As part of our commitment to the SPHERE standards in AMURT we feel accountable first and foremost to the communities whose capacities we seek to reinforce.  We seek to follow and promote consistent and transparent accountability standards and structures which respond to the local conditions appropriately, efficiently and timely, and through a participative and all-inclusive approach.  The quality of our programming and long-term sustainability of our results depend on our capacity to remain accountable to our community partners and stakeholders. Community Partnerships

AMURT and its local implementing partner LOCAL-Haiti (Local Capacities Alliance) seek to strengthen the capacities of communities and individuals through a participatory approach and a step-by-step approach of building community Self-Help structures.  The strategy focuses on organizing the communities into groups of 20, facilitating weekly meetings and savings/project targets, and election of representatives for the higher federation level leadership structures.  The 5-year strategic target of this partnership is to restructure entire Communes Anse Rouge and Terre Neuve from the bottom up, setting up a regional social model which is self-sustaining and integrated within a larger community development plan.

Since 2004 AMURT-Haiti has successfully realized 14 integrated community development projects, receiving and managing a total of  10 million USD (both in monetary and food contributions). The NGO has consistently received high ratings from the major International Development Agencies in Haiti for its.
